Listen to the interview
“Well done, Claire, you were eloquent and articulate! The interviewer was perceptive when noting you were choosing your words carefully which took great skill on your part as I imagine there's so much more you would like to have said. What an achievement! I can't wait to see where you take HTBA.”
“Just heard you! It was great!”
“A very good, measured interview Claire. Very well done. It must have been scary. Thank you”
“Brilliant well done Claire! Thanks for putting yourself out there on behalf of adoptees.”
“Hi Claire. Just caught up with the broadcast. Well done! Another great bit of work - and thank you for this and all that you do. Without any exaggeration HTBA has certainly helped saved my sanity and possibly more!”
”Dear Claire, I have just listened to the interview. It was brilliant. Thank you for sharing your story on behalf of all adoptees.”
“Great interview Claire. You're such a great spokesperson, calm, articulate, eminently reasonable yet punching home some great points in your gentle voice ( I especially liked how you called out the obligatory opener 'I had a great childhood' as that one has always irritated me too!) “
“Go you!!”
“My husband says to say he thought that your episode on Café Hope was excellent and could I pass that on!”
“Just a quick line to say thank you for all you do for our community, for raising awareness on our behalf and to congratulate you for how eloquent you were in your interview with Rachel Burden today. I truly admired how you delivered the viewpoint from our adopted community and cohort’s perspective in such a calm, informative and respectful manner. You articulated the difficult subject of the false narrative surrounding adoption expertly and how it is incorrectly perceived by most who are not within our cohort to be a “win-win” situation and that adoptees should be thankful and grateful for being adopted, without acknowledgment of the negative consequences and issues that are inevitable because of the developmental trauma we experienced. Thanks again Claire, we’re super lucky to have you in our corner!”
“Dear Claire, Thank you as always. I have a very good friend who is a GP. She has been in touch with me to say that after listening to Cafe Hope yesterday, she will adapt her response to her patients when they're facing changes/ having difficulties if they're an adoptee. She's also working out the right questions to ask when she asks about medical history and the person says they don't know due to adoption. We have come up with: ‘How are you managing the complexities that come with processing that?’. See what you did?“
“I actually caught it! You did a great job! It was really moving to hear our truth being spoken and heard on national radio. Well done! “
“Thank you and I just listened to the Radio 4 Hope Café, brilliant, I am so proud to be part of the adoptee community.”
“A great interview. Kudos to you guys :)”
